Building confidenceBuilding confidence

Our goal is to help children grow in confidence, discipline and a love for music that lasts a lifetime.Confidence, focus and joy.

Starting to sing at a very young age cultivates a love of music that tends to last. Our singing lessons for toddlers (3 to 5 years old) introduce the voice through familiar songs, simple rhythms and games, which is how children of that age learn best. Singing captivates them, and a proper start protects the voice they will use for the rest of their lives.

Open to all children aged 5 to 12, our singing lessons build confidence as much as technique. Children discover their own voice and learn to sing in tune, using songs they already love to develop tone, breath control and pitch. The benefits reach well beyond music: singing sharpens memory, listening and the social ease that comes from performing in front of someone else.

Reserved for girls and boys aged 13 to 18, our singing lessons for teenagers welcome absolute beginners and experienced vocalists alike. Lessons cover rock, pop, jazz, musical theatre, soul, RnB and classical, and the repertoire is chosen with the student rather than for them. This is the age when a voice changes and grows, and it is exactly when good technical guidance matters most.

How singing lessons work

  1. 1
Tell us the instrument and your child’s age

We match your child with a teacher who specialises in that age group, not with whoever is free.

  2. 2
Choose a weekly day and time

Lessons are one to one and run weekly on a set day and time, subject to availability.

  3. 3
Start in any week of the year

There is no need to wait for September, or for a term to begin.

  4. 4
    Pay monthly, in advance

Lesson durations: 20, 30, 45 or 60 minutes depending on age. Notice of four teaching weeks can be given from the end of the first month, so the shortest commitment is two months.

Singing lessons in Fitzrovia, Central London

Our singing lessons are held in Fitzrovia (W1) and in studios across Central London, taught one to one by teachers who specialise in young voices.

A child’s voice is still developing, so lessons build it carefully — breathing, posture, pitch and diction together with the songs themselves, rather than pushing for volume or range before the voice is ready. Beginners are welcome, and so are children who already sing constantly at home and want to learn how to do it properly.

Lessons run weekly on a set day and time, and children can join at any point in the year rather than waiting for a term to begin.

Common questions

Where are the singing lessons held?

In Fitzrovia, W1 — a few minutes from Oxford Circus and Great Portland Street — and in studios across Central London.

Who are the teachers?

Experienced performers and teachers who have studied under some of Europe’s finest musicians, and who specialise in teaching children rather than adults.

How are the lessons structured?

Weekly, on a set day and time. Each lesson builds technique, musical expression and confidence together rather than drilling one at the expense of the others, and the balance is matched to your child rather than to a fixed syllabus.

How long is each singing lesson?

Lessons are 20, 30, 45 or 60 minutes depending on age. Shorter lessons usually suit younger beginners; longer lessons suit children who are progressing towards more demanding repertoire.

When can my child start?

At any point in the year. Lessons are weekly on a set day and time, and are paid monthly.

Does my child need to have played before?

No. Complete beginners are welcome, and lessons are tailored to the level your child is starting from.

What if my child is not especially talented?

Then they are like almost every child who starts. Talent is not the entry requirement — attention is, and a good teacher builds that. Children are never judged or criticised here, and progress is measured against where your child began rather than against anybody else.

What is the minimum commitment?

Two months. Lessons are paid monthly, and notice of four teaching weeks can be given from the end of the first month — so the shortest possible commitment is two months.

Does my child need anything at home?

Nothing to buy. A quiet room to practise in is enough, and a piano or keyboard helps if you have one.

Can my child take ABRSM or Trinity exams?

Yes, and they are optional. Grades give a course structure and something to aim at, and the certificate at the end is worth more to a child than adults tend to expect.

How much should my child practise?

Fifteen minutes a day is plenty to begin with, rising as they get older and more able. Daily and short beats weekly and long.

Can I sit in on the lesson?

Yes. It helps you understand what the teacher is asking for, which makes practice at home easier. If your child concentrates better alone with the teacher, that is worth respecting too.

Do you offer a discount for siblings?

No. Our teachers are paid for their expertise and their time, and a sibling lesson takes as much of both as any other.

A child who learns to sing develops three gifts for life:
a trained ear, the discipline to master something difficult,
and the ability to express what words cannot.
These are gifts that remain long after childhood.
